A
  • L (Angle)
    Standardized, L-shaped steel angle bar.
B
  • bend allowance
Refers to the length that is subtracted from the material length beforehand, when bending the steel plate. (As steel plate stretches when it is bent, the stretched length needs to be pre-calculated.)
E
  • edge bending
Refers to a technique bending at both ends of a plate in advance.
F
  • 5' x10'
    A standardized size of a steel plate (1524 x 3048 mm)
  • FB(Flat bar)
Refers to a standardized, long and flat steel plate.
L
  • L-dimension
Refers the depth of an item. This means the height for roll bending.
M
  • t (milli)
    Refers to thickness. (i.e. 6t means 6mm)
P
  • Φ(phi)
    Refers to diameter.
T
  • tong hold
Refers to a part that is not bent radius due to the structure of the processing machine.
U
  • usable dimension
Dimensions required by a customer. For instance, when bending a shaped steel, the length of the material has to be longer than the usable dimension because of the tong hold.
W
  • wrinkle preventing device
When thin-walled pipes are bent, wrinkling can occur on the inner bend radius. To prevent such wrinkles, this device can be used.
